Sarah Blackmon enjoys creating works that include nature, but most of all she loves botanical pieces. Flowers and plants are seen in most of her work and she loves studying how unique and exquisite they are. She believes there is beauty in nature- but most of all in the unplanned and unseen.
The artist spends most of her time being a full time mom when she’s not painting, but she also is a sonographer who is privileged to scan the unseen. She loves spending time with her husband of 10 years and they frequent Stella at least once a week. “There is no better breakfast food” she says.
“Opening Stella has been an amazing experience all around because of the incredibly talented people that we have been able to work with. I got to know Sarah because of the work she did inside the building when we first started and we had kicked around the idea of doing something bigger ever since. Sarah and I share a common faith in our creator God that filled the world with tremendous beauty. Being made in His image puts the responsibility on us to likewise make things that are more than functional, but truly beautiful. We decided on a natural mural to highlight the wonder of a vibrant garden and I couldn’t be more pleased with the result. I hope it is something this town enjoys for many years to come.”
